Near the town of Shashin (the Sissu District), Lahul, offering a beautiful view of Gepang (the Mount M), On the right bank of the Chandra River, there is majestic waterfall of Palden Lhamo, and the neighboring village of Labrang hosts a temple dedicated to this goddess.

"The Palden Lhamo waterfall is not far away from here; the nature itself has engraved on a rock the image of this formidable goddess riding her favorite mule. "You see how the mule raised his head and his right leg, how clearly seen is the head of the goddess". Yes, we do see! And we listen to the incessant song of the mountain stream".

(N.K. Roerich. "The Geser-Hhan's Sword").

The image on the rock, in which, judging by the photos, you can recognize the face of the "formidable goddess", in the Roerich's picture gets quite definite outlines of the traditional image of this deity wearing a crown decorated with skulls.
The blue-black color of the skin of this "keeper of the secrets of life and death" fits perfectly into the dark surface of the rock. The severe beauty of Lahul, with its inaccessible peaks and rapid streams, appeals rather to angry representatives of the world of deities, such as the dharmapala (the protectress) Palden Lhamo.
