... "And now there are peaks around us, near which Mont Blanc looks like a dwarf. Nobody never climbed many of these peaked teeth. How I would like to climb on them! But we know the surroundings. We know that from the top we will see long familiar valleys, to which convenient roads lead. But there may be other peaks from which new ascents can be discovered, and it is worthwhile to overcome them, sparing no effort. Sometimes, in the Trans-Himalayas, we saw countless peaks from a pass, all shining with the snow cover. My eyes could no longer cover the structures of this stone ocean. Who knows where is the reality and where is the mirage? Travelers follow a narrow path. The guide of the caravan does not allow them to go deep into an impenetrable labyrinth."
