An old source states that the Talung monastery is the most sacred throughout Sikkim. The artist himself left us no mention of this monastery. The first Central Asian expedition of the Roerichs could visit this site before the end of their journey, in May 1928. In the picture, we see the typical monastic buildings of Sikkim, with a roof covered with straw. In the work, the warm colors of the monastery buildings are in harmony with the light silhouettes of the mountains in blue and gray tones, and the bizarre cloud structures give peace to this picture.
