The work continues the "Sankta" series, created 1922. Here again, we see the image of Saint Sergius. A bridge, according to Roerich, is a "symbol of the unification of the Worlds". "God has put eternity in the human heart, – the abode of the spirit is imperishible, eternal through all incarnations. And it knows the light, for it itself is a source of light... the ability to carry light is one of the first signs of the action of these energies. When this light increases, when it becomes visible for us, – this moment always remains expectedly unexpected. We were bequeathed to keep the lamps lit, but the moment of the messenger is unpredictable". "Looming, glow, lightning are messengers of distant events. The Northern Lights or the Himalayan Glow remind us of accumulations that are incomprehensible to the ear and the eyes. Only the heart will feel them, beating anxiously or solemnly".
