Guga Chokhan is the name of the Rajput prince, who is revered as the protector of the Kulu Valley in India, where the Roerich family lived. A stone equestrian statue of Guga Chokhan was found in the valley and installed near the house of the Roerichs. There are several works by Nikolay Roerich depicting this statue on the background of Kulu. The valley depicted on the paintings is a very ancient place, associated with many legendary and historical events.
