Brief description:
In the foreground of the mountain landscape, we see a pointed stone with a sword engraved on it.
“Again there is the heroic sword of Gesser-Khan engraved on the rock; again we have in front of us the caves and the summits of the sacred pilgrimage. Lama Mengiure proudly calls to the stone bearing the image of the sword. That is why I conceived the picture “The Geser-Khan’s Sword”. <...> Where did we see these characteristic forms of the sword-dagger? We saw them in Minusinsk, seen in the Caucasus, seen in many Celtic and Sarmatian antiquities. This sword leads us all to the same images for the migration of peoples, so clearly imprinted on the ancient, centuries-polished, brown-purple stone surface. It is a sign of battle, a sign of courageous journey? Or a forgotten border? A victory?”
