The Mount of Jomolhari (7,315 m) is a mountain ridge on the border of Bhutan and Tibet, part of the Great Himalayan Range. It is called “the bride of Kanchenjunga”. In Tibetan Buddhism, Jomolhari is considered a sacred mountain and the habitat of one of the sisters of Tseringm – a female deity, defender of Tibet and Bhutan. Padmasambhava bound her with an oath to protect the Buddhist faith. The mountain is well visible and beautifully seen from the ancient trade route from India via Sikkim to Tibet through the Pagri valley.
